Get a Library Card
A library card is free and only takes 5-10 minutes to get set up at the Leetonia Community Public Library. A valid photo ID and current mailing address are required to register for a new card. If the address listed on your photo ID is not current, an additional piece of identification or mail with your name and current address will be needed.
Minors will need to be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian to sign the application form. Library cards are only available to children over the age of 5.
History of the Library
In February of 1935 interested citizens and members of the Leetonia PTA (Parent Teacher Association) contacted the State Librarian, Paul A. Noon, to start a public library in Leetonia, Ohio. A small collection of books was collected in the old North Side School building, on the corner of High St and Elm St in Leetonia. Books were donated by many people in town, especially from members of the Thursday Reading Club.
Passports
The Leetonia Community Public Library is an official U.S. Passport Acceptance Agency. This means that some of our staff have trained as Passport Acceptance Agents and are able to process new U.S. Passport applications.
While appointments are not required, we do ask that you give staff plenty of time before the library closes to completely process your application. We suggest you allow 20-30 minutes per passport.
